Mysore: Activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) on barged into centres where Railway recruitment written examinations were on and disrupted them alleging "step-motherly" treatment for Kannadigas in jobs.

The activists stormed into Yuvaraja's College in Mysore where the written examinations were being conducted for the post of Railway ticket collector and disrupted them in some classrooms.

Alleging that the Railway Board has been adopting "step-motherly attitude" towards Kannadigas, they tore question papers and answer sheets in some class rooms.

They alleged that out of 388 candidates who appeared for the test, 350 were from outside Karnataka.

Police arrived at the scene and took the activists into custody.

The Examination continued in class-rooms where there was no disruption. In respect of others, senior railway official Narasimhan, in-charge of conducting tests in Mysore centre, said arrangements would be made to conduct the test later.

Written tests of close to 20 candidates were disrupted by the activists.

In Bangalore, KRV activists barged into Kamalabai school where the Railway test as well as exams for recruitment by Karnataka Public Service Commission were(KPSC)on.

By mistake, the activists also disrupted the KPSC exams before police took them, including their leader Praveen Shetty, into custody, police said.
