Ram Charan did not latch on to Apoorva Lakia's idea of 'Zanjeer', immediately after he was offered the role of Inspector Vijay. He had his reservations and dilly-dallied with the idea for four months. When he realised that not only was the film very popular but also that he can work well under pressure, he did not look back.
As stated in a national daily, the reason why he chose to act in 'Zanjeer' was because the hero was a cop in this story-based film. This is the first time that he is playing a cop in his 4-year-old career. Cherry is dubbing for himself in the film. Before going on the floors, he was not very confident about whether he had his Hindi right at least not after the first schedule, which was wrapped up recently. He admits that his Hindi was not as bad as he thought.
The actor was not enthusiastic about debuting in Bollywood even when the makers of 'Zanjeer' came knocking on his doors. But once he decided to take up the challenge, he did not entertain any delusion that the film is different, just because it is being made in Bollywood. "It is like any other film for me," he says.
