Clad in a blazing red sari Parvathy Omanakuttan is simply grace personified. The former Miss India World is all smiles as we sit down for a chat and the gorgeous girl has every reason to be happy - she is looking forward to her big release ‘Billa 2’ in which she will be seen romancing none other than ‘Thala’ Ajith. Though her debut entry as the confident model Shaina in ‘United Six’ was a box office debacle, she has high hopes for her Kollywood debut, a sequel to the super hit ‘Billa’. “Yes I’m playing the lead opposite Ajith and I am all excited about it,” she says.
The shooting is almost over and the film is slated for a May release. Speaking about her first hand experience in the Tamil industry, she says, “Ajith is a pleasant and down-to-earth person. I felt very comfortable working with him.” Though she is tight-lipped about her role in ‘Billa 2’, the peppy model-turned-actress says her character will have both serious and light shades. “My character will be the emotional quotient of the movie,” says the pretty actress.
For Parvathy, a classical dancer, acting has always been her passion. When asked why she stayed away from the industry so long, she says, “Many offers came my way, but I was waiting for the right film and script. I believe in doing roles that create an impact” She says being a Malayali, Tamil was no tough job. “Tamil is somewhat similar to Malayalam. My rakhi brother is a Tamilian so I understand the language pretty well. The dialogues were written in English and there were people to help me out with the Tamil pronunciation,” says the 24-year-old.

When asked about the news on her Malayalam debut in double role, she makes it clear that she has not signed any movie so far and the news that has been circulating in the internet is fake. “I do not know who is behind the news. But I am waiting to do a Malayalam film since I am a hardcore Malayali,” she says. Ask her whether she would miss her modelling career as she will be engrossed more in films, she says, “I will continue to walk the ramp for my favourite designers. It was modelling and Miss India World that gave me exposure and confidence to reach here. In fact, the chance to act in ‘Billa 2’ also came because of modelling. The producer saw me last September while I was walking the ramp for a fashion show.
