Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde Monday appeared before a two-member panel probing the Adarsh Society scam.

The commission had issued notice to Shinde to appear before it as a witness in the case on June 25.

Shinde was the chief minister (2001 to 2003) when he cleared many files including allotment of land to Adarsh.

Former chief ministers Vilasrao Deshmukh and Ashok Chavan are scheduled to appear as witness on June 27 and June 30 respectively before the Commission.
