New Delhi: The popular browser add-on Adblock Plus, used for blocking online advertising, is now available for Android devices. The open-source project released the first version of its Android app on November 27.
The free app is available on Google Play for free as a 1.8MB download. Users without access to Google PLay on their Android devices can download it from the AdBlock Plus for Android website.
AdBlock Plus "works in background and filters out ads in almost all Android browsers and apps. Android 2.1 and higher is supported, the app uses the same filter lists as the Adblock Plus browser extensions," says a post on the AdBlock Plus blog.
AdBlock Plus is also available for Firefox, Chrome and Opera Web browsers.
