New Delhi: It appears that the Gujarat Government is once again set on throwing a spanner in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh investigation into the fake encounter being conducted by Inspector General of Police, Geeta Johri.
The counsel for the state government has now informed Johri that ADGP (Crime) O P Mathur will be part of the probe.
However, Johri has not been specifically asked to report to him, since that will violate Supreme Court's order that she should report to the court directly.
But Mathur is technically senior to Johri in rank. Johri had led the Crime Investigation Department (CID) probe of the November 2005 fake encounter.
Johri had been shifted out of the probe and reinstated by the state government when the SC began hearing a plea for a Central inquiry into the matter.
