New Delhi: Senior BJP leader LK Advani on Tuesday hit out at the United Progressive Alliance Government over continuing violence in the Kashmir Valley calling it "clueless" and "spineless".
In his valedictory address at the BJP National Workshop for Spokespersons and Media Cell Conveners, Advani said that there was no government worth the name in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is alarming. The mess in Kashmir is not the making of only the government in Srinagar," Advani said.
He also accused the Omar Abdullah government of ceding ground to the secessionists in the violence torn state.
"Instead of giving a fitting reply to the secessionists, the Government has been demonizing the security forces," Advani said.
He also warned the government against dilution of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
"There is continuing talk of diluting the AFSPA, and withdrawal of the forces. This is nothing but surrender before Islamabad's strategy of breaking India's post-1947 unity," Advani added.
