Islamabad: Afghanistan qualified for the 2015 World Cup despite getting little help from Asian cricketing nations apart from Pakistan, according to a top official of the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
Afghanistan defeated Kenya by seven wickets in a decisive qualifier on Friday, setting off mass celebrations in the country. But ACB chief executive Noor Mohammad Murad said on Saturday that the Afghan team needs more support from the traditional Asian powers to develop further. He said so far India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have not responded to requests to set up matches against Afghanistan.
Murad especially criticized Bangladesh, saying: "We are very disappointed the way Bangladesh has been handling us. ... If given opportunity we could beat them because of the talent we have."
