But when he left Johar's Dharma Productions to go independent, he didn't realise that he was also leaving behind the comforts of a good production house.
“It was a difficult time to survive. You come across people you can't trust and they give false promises. And I am a person who would believe anyone if am made to believe and they are respected people in the industry. I was taken for a ride for sometime, I followed them and met wrong people. It was a process I guess,” Shah said.
And it took him four years after his dream debut to finish his next film Luck starring Imran Khan, Shruti Hassan and Sanjay Dutt. The film is an action-adventure shot in South Africa on a budget of Rs 40 crore. But rumour has it that Luck is an unabashed rip-off of European films 13 Tzameti and Intacto.
“I will not say that it doesn’t have anything to do with Intacto and 13 Tzameti but in larger picture, when you watch the film it’s nothing like that but if you go back and Google on the net and check out all the films made on Luck, keeping aside the romantic ones, you can say that the world of Luck have been absorbed from them,” Shah said.
Confused? Wait till the 24th of this month to know the truth. And hope Shah's luck stays with him this time.
