One Agni-V can hit 10 targets: Missile expert

New Delhi: Missile expert PK Ghose on Thursday termed the successful launch of Agni-V as a game changer in many ways for India, saying the biggest significance is that it covers entire China.

"This missile is capable of MIRV (multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicle). An MIRV payload on a missile carries several nuclear warheads, which can be programmed to hit different targets," he said.

Talking in details, Ghose said that the Agni-V can carry many warheads, from 3-10, and each warhead can act independently. "Hypothetically speaking, now with a single missile, we can bomb at 10 different places," he said.
