Ahmedabad: The recovery of eight crude bombs and a country-made revolver at a time when most cities are on a high alert following the Mumbai bomb blasts, has caused a flutter in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Police has arrested one person and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has defused all the bombs.

At around 4 am, a woman called up the police control room, stating that her husband wanted to kill her with a bomb. The police reached the spot and found a crude bomb in the house of 30-year old Shehzad Ahmed, a resident of Faisal Park Society in Danilimda locality in Ahmedabad.

On being interrogated, Shehzad confessed that he had stacked away other crude bombs in the Chandola Lake.
