indianexpressExpress News Service

PUDUCHERRY: The AIADMK on Friday sought dismissal of the AINRC government by the Centre for its ‘total’ failure in  administering the Union Territory.

Secretary of the local unit and MLA A Anbazhagan said the law and order situation has deteriorated to the extent that murders, extortions and thefts had become the order of the day and common man was living in constant fear. He said there were problems in administration, which had been pointed out by various political parties.

Further, he said the Lieutenant Governor should convene a meeting of home secretary, police officials and direct them to take necessary steps for maintenance of law and order.

He reiterated the need for a Judicial inquiry into the recent violence at Yanam. Besides, a CBI inquiry was also required to find out if there had been any role played by anti-social elements from other states.
