AIADMK-DMDK poster war causes tension

CHENNAI: Tension prevailed as cadres of AIADMK and DMDK started a wordy duel after the latter allegedly stuck posters depicting the Chief Minister and the AIADMK party in a bad light on Saturday. Police said both AIADMK and DMDK have lodged a complaint.
Earlier, AIADMK cadres had allegedly stuck posters depicting DMDK leader Vijayakanth and his MLAs in poor light, said police, and this it had brought displeasure among DMDK cadres.
On Saturday, DMDK cadre put up posters in Koyambedu, Saligramam and Chinmaya Nagar portraying the Chief Minister and the AIADMK party unfavourably, police sources said. They added that the 129th ward AIADMK councillor Senthil Pandian and other cadre of the party had removed the posters that had allegedly led to an argument between cadres of both the parties.
Later, DMDK district secretary VN Rajan lodged a complaint at the Koyambedu police station alleging that the AIADMK men were threatening them.
Councillor Senthil Pandian lodged a complaint as well, alleging that DMDK cadres had put up posters depicting the chief minister poorly.
