Mumbai: We caught the Khiladi(player) of Bollywood Akshay Kumar and film maker Nagesh Kukunoor busy promoting their upcoming film 8 X 10 Tasveer on Friday evening, a spine-chilling thriller, about a young man who possesses super natural powers to narrate the past of any person by just touching a thing that belongs to them.
Nagesh Kukunoor says, "I have really worked my ass off to make the best product for you guys. Also a big step cause for the first time I have an actor and a star whose name goes above the picture itself and whose name also ensures a certain degree of footfalls, and ensures that people come to see the movie. So its both an extremely an extremely exciting and a nervous time for me."
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar says, "The most challenging thing was working with this man.. Nagesh. That was the most challenging. I must tell you the day I started working with him, the first day for 4-5 days I literally got irritated with him. I was thinking where have I landed up.. he would tell me no for everything.. Akshay I want only this much and I'm used to giving more to a shot."
Khiladi Kumar known for his action and comedy films will be trying a different genre for the first time. So we asked him whether he was nervous?
Akshay says, "I'm taking a risk - but if I do something like this its a risk, if I don't do it you guys say I don't take risks.. What am I suppose to do.. You tell me. Last press conference also someone asked me why I keep doing comedy over and over again... and now when I'm trying something different, you are asking me why I'm doing something different. I'm sorry if I made a mistake.. Let me know how you like it.."
With IPL just round the corner, we wonder if Akshay will be supporting the Delhi Daredevils yet again.
Akshay says, "As of now I'm not from any team.. because I will be in south Africa shooting ,so I won't be able to come here for any team. But my full support is there for Delhi team.
8 X 10 Tasveer also starring Sharmila Tagore, Javed Jaffrey, Anant Mahadevan, Girish Karnad and Benjamin Gilani is slated to release on the April 3.
Hope Nagesh Kukunoor is praying that the demons of the film distributors strike and the IPL season doesn't cost him his box office rewards.
