Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has found a new way to confront his fears. He's been signed on to host Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi on the brand new channel, Colors that was launched in Bangkok on Monday. The channel, a part of the Viacom18 group, will go on air shortly, with Akshay's show as its flagship feature. CNN-IBN caught up with the Khiladi Kumar in Bangkok, who had a rather "fearsome" friend for company.

CNN-IBN: Akshay, you got a new friend in Bangkok. What is this?

Akshay Kumar: Yes, I got a new friend. And I hope he remembers me when I come here the next time.

CNN-IBN: You are going to soon make your small screen debut with Khatron Ke Khiladi. Is it exciting and challenging?

Akshay Kumar: Yes I am very excited about it. I got lots of offers earlier also to come on TV shows. Nevertheless, I was waiting for something like this to come because this is where I belong. It has been five years since I left it, but now I got a chance to come back.

CNN-IBN: So audience will also get to see the Khiladi avatar of you that has been missing on the big screen for a long time. You have been doing comedies and romantic roles. Are you going to do stunts for the show as well?

Akshay Kumar: Ah well, yes I will be performing some of the stunts and trying to show the contestants how to do them and try and help them.

CNN-IBN: The show also has 13 Bollywood actresses with you. So it can’t get hotter than this. Isn’t it?

Akshay Kumar: I am sure that you would be wanting to come there more than anyone else. You must have asked your organisers to take you there rather than here with me.

CNN-IBN: The big question is that two of your friends and co-stars, Shah Rukh and Salman are already doing shows on small screen, so what about the competition?

Akshay Kumar: There is no competition whatsoever because they are doing different kind of shows. I am doing my bit. We are not doing these shows to compete with each other. We are doing shows because we like that. I am sure they also believe in that.

CNN-IBN: What is it about your new look. Is it for your new film or something?

Akshay Kumar: I keep on changing my look for every film, so this is just a part of that. This is for my film, Chandni Chowk to China, which is my action film after a long time.
