However, pop singer Alisha Chinai’ motto this year is to be seen and heard. And Alisha has her hands full.
She is shooting for the title track of Mumbai Salsa, a film produced by Vikram Bhatt with ASA productions.
Alisha sung the track and duet for the film with singer Adnan Sami. And the original pop princess has no regrets that it is for a relatively smaller film.
Says Chinai, “It's a song that I have to appear in and it's the first time I am appearing in a film.â€
For the once popular pop singer, being visible is payback for all the hits that she's scored but never ended up getting due credit for.
Alisha says, "I feel the singer should also be seen when a song is shot along with the actor. All the credit otherwise goes to the stars."
Apart from Mumbai Salsa, Alisha has also launched her latest album Shut Up And Kiss Me which has an equally over the top music video.
"We have mixed the whole album in England so the sound is innovative. We have also made the video in a stylish manner,†says Alisha.
With Alisha also judging this season of Sony TV’s popular show Indian Idol, visibility shouldn't bother her anymore.
But the question is, how many want to watch her doing the pop diva act now?
