Jaipur/Patna: In the hustle and bustle of Jaipur's goat post, the spell of star goats named Shahrukh and Salman has been working wonders for the goat sellers this Bakr-eid.
While the Salmans are priced at Rs 81,000, the Shahrukhs don’t come for any less than a whopping Rs 1.25 lakh.
However, what’s the reason behind the exorbitant, celeb-like prices and names?
Goat seller Mansur Shah Bharati explains, “Salman's crazy about his fitness and workouts. That's why we've named this goat Salman. On the other hand, Shahrukh's playful, and that is why I have named this goat Shahrukh. We've named the goats according to their traits, and priced them accordingly.
And it seems that the innovative hard selling is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Buyers with loaded wallets don't feel lost any longer.
They simply ask for the Shahrukhs and the Salmans of this little world.
“It brings beauty to the goat. People think ‘Oh Wow! I've bought Salman Khan,’” beams a happy goat buyer Nizamuddin.
Another enthusiastic buyer Mohammad Imran says, “I'm a fan of Salman Khan. What I like about him is his fitness, so I'm looking for a goat like that.”
This trend of giving goats starry names has spread across the country this Eid-ul-Zuha and the best goats have been named Shahrukh.
Like in Patna, one Shahrukh was traded for Rs 1 lakh and a Salman went for 80,000 rupees. In fact, the star goats were the first ones to be bought.
