Bangalore: Traditional Madagascan music set to a Jazz base by two French artistes in the southern city of Bangalore - fusion doesn't get any better than this.
Organised by Alliance Francaise and the French Embassy, the concert showcased Gizavo and David Mirandon a jazz duo from Madagascar.
The traditional tunes and an accordion as a star of the show made sure the cities jazz enthusiasts were all smiles.
"I think the people here enjoy music and my music is very special. It's from my heart," said Regis Gizavo.
Though popularly known to be a city that favours rock, Bangalore has always had its share of Jazz lovers.
And with at least one concert every four months, the Jazz scene in Bangalore is sure buzzing or at least thats what the city's Jazz enthusiasts like to believe.
“It's always been an English Speaking town, so time to time Bangalore does get very good jazz acts,” says one such jazz enthusiast.
Not too fast, not too slow, kind of half-fast - that's how Louis Armstrong defined jazz. And that also holds true for the jazz music scene in India’s silicon valley.
