Amarnath row:1 dead in Indore, curfew clamped

Bhopal: Indore continued to burn for the second consecutive day, as violence broke out in areas were curfew had not been imposed on Thursday. One person was killed as police and protestors clashed. Violence was first reported in the Khajrana police station limits around noon.

And the relatives of the person who were killed in the clash are up in arms. They say that their family member was not doing anything.

"Police and antisocial elements attacked him and killed him," his relatives claim

Violence soon spread to other parts of the city as protestors started pelting stones on the police. The district administration soon clamped a curfew on the entire city. But even as the people were being forced indoors, politicians took over.

In capital Bhopal, the state Congress staged a dharna demanding the Chief Minister's resignation.

State Congress President, Suresh Pachori said, "There is nothing called law and order in the state. We have urged the state governor to take appropriate constitutional measures against the government. The BJP does not deserve to stay in power."

Violence was also reported from Ujjain where two groups clashed with each other. The Rapid Action force has been kept on alert across the state and state police have urged people to maintain calm.

The communal violence began after a bandh had been called to protest the revocation of the Jammu & Kashmir government order on land allotment to the Amarnath Shrine Board.
