Harare: Ambati Rayudu has become the 11th Indian to score fifty-plus runs on one-day international (ODI) debut.

Making his first international appearance against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday in the first of five ODIs, the 27-year-old scored an unbeaten 63 off 84 deliveries to help India beat the hosts by six wickets.

Rayudu, who was identified as an India prospect very early in his career, earned a call-up to the series after several big players were rested. Picked in India's XI ahead of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, the Hyderabad turned Baroda batsman featured in a third-wicket stand of 159 with his captain Virat Kohli.
