Dewey Bunnell, one of the lead singers of America, a couple of hours before the folk-rock band's concert in Bangalore said, “I feel a pretty good vibe around here, like there's going to be an exuberant crowd". The band prefers to be known as a 70's sensation and one could see the sense reflected in the crowd as well. Though most of them were clapping their hands and singing along, they were not the usual young concert going crowd.
"For us it's a big nostalgia trip,” says a hardcore fan of the band. "I am expecting to feel the same I did in those days".
Performing live at the city's palace grounds, the band belted out popular hits like Ventura highway, A horse with no nameand Tin Manamong others. Though there were no screaming groupies, there were the occasional spurts of energy with middle-aged men standing up, waving their hands and dancing away to the tunes of the band.
