Mumbai: An American woman has alleged that she was molested inside Mumbai's Iskcon Temple premises on Monday morning.
The 27-year-old tourist alleged that on Saturday morning (January 31) at about 0320 hrs IST two Indian visitors came to her room and molested her.
Initially she was not willing to undergo a medical examination but was later taken to Cooper Hospital where it was confirmed that she had been molested.
She has filed a report at the Juhu Police Station against two unknown persons.
She had been staying at the Iskcon guest house, which is situated next to the temple since January 29.
Iskcon Temple authorities say this is the first time that such an incident has happened. They clarified that the woman is just a guest and not a member of Iskcon.
Police are investigating the case.
