Amitabh, Abhishek meet real-life Auros

Mumbai: A special screening of the film Paa was held for the children of the NGO Deeds.

The film’s lead stars Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan made a special appearance at the screening to meet their fans.

“Most of the patients look like ‘Auro’ (Amitabh’s character in the movie) with big head, no hair and the veins show on the head. They even lose their eye sight and their eyes are become big. We were not able to show the eye make up in the film as for that I would have had to wear a particular lens for which I would have to take injections every two hours and it wouldn’t have been healthy for me,” say Big B.

Abhishek, who plays a young politician in Paa, is seen lashing out at the media in a scene in the film so the actor made it a point to clear the air at the event.

“The media part was just a part of the screenplay, there is nothing personal,” says Abhishek.

Despite favorable reviews Paa and a lot of curiosity around the theme of the film, the film opened to a lukewarm response at the box-office. However, the Bachchans aren't complaining about it.

“The kind of film it is, the subject, it is not the Friday audience going film who loves the masala song and dance. It is family audience which comes in on Sundays. I didn't even expect the opening it got,” says Abhishek.

Though there have been reports of a separate cut of the film for an international release, the Bachchans deny any such plan.
