Amol brings Golmaal effect in Dumkata

Pune: Amol Palekar has started shooting for his next film, which he claims is a plain simple family drama.

It's lights, camera and action, once again for Amol Palekar. After his last Hindi venture Paheli in 2005, Palekar returns to Hindi with Dumkata which he has already started shooting in his hometown, Pune.

Palekar promises the fun filled family film won't be a difficult paheli for the viewers.

"Mujhe jaise aaj bhi log puchte hain kee aap us taraha ke filme nahin banate jaise aap pehle karte the golmaal, chitchoor, wagera wagera, toh rishida jaise us gharane ke film hain. I am sure u will all enjoy the film jaise hume is-se banate hue achca lag raha hain. (Everybody keeps asking me why I don't make films like Golmaal, Chitchoor etc. This is that kind of a film)," said Palekar.

But the story of Dumkata will be kept under wraps till it's under production.

The film stars Om Puri and Sachin Khedekar apart from two young debutants.

"Its basically our parents who are mostly out and then me and my brother in the film, Khush, Wekeep on having tons of fun, I keep teasing him, like a big brother, love to do that," said actor Aseem Desai.

A normally subdued storyteller, Palekar has chosen a rather commercial team of Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Gulzar as musicians and lyricist for his new venture. What’s more Om Puri also does a rap number in this one!

"Dikhiye rap gana gaya hian lekin bus thoda sa hissa mera hain, is-se pehle aise hurkat nahi kee, pehle baar gustakhi kee hain woh bhi Amol pushed me (There is a rap song but my part is very small. I haven't done anything like this before. I hope I am successful.)," said Om Puri.

"The role is of elderly gentle man as I look like, grandfather to these two children," he added.

Dumkata is to be shot in one long schedule over the summer and is slated for a Diwali release this year.
