Amritsar: In yet another case of molesters having a free run in Punjab, another policeman was on Tuesday attacked by a group of molesters. This time, the incident once again took place in Amritsar, where a policeman was recently shot dead by molesters for protecting her daughter.
In the latest such incident in Punjab, a police constable in Lopoke area was attacked by three molesters after he tried to stop them from harassing girls near a school. The police have arrested the three offenders and have also registered a case in this regard.
The accused though claim that they are being framed, and they were not harassing any women.
The incident came on a day when Punjab Deputy Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal ordered the dismissal of all the policemen who had run away from spot instead of taking on the accused in the earlier Amritsar case where Assistant Sub Inspector Ravinderpal Singh was allegedly shot dead as he tried to save his daughter from molesters.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had also met the family of the slain policeman expressing his condolence over the death. The ASI's daughter had told the Chief Minister that her father was publicly beaten by the accused before being shot dead. The 23-year-old girl had further said that the accused also slapped her repeatedly.
