An Indian invitation to Shilpa's foes

New Delhi: The woman who wanted to be actor Shilpa Shetty's cheeky “big sister” is being offered the best Indian holistic holiday by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

Believe it or not, despite the racist tag, Jade Goody is now selling Incredible India to the UK.

The Tourism Ministry has picked up Goody even after she has been evicted from the British reality show Celebrity Big Brother.

Ministry sources confirm that Goody has given the perfect tagline to the Incredible India campaign – “Experience the healing nature of India”.

It is an open invitation to Goody and her friends at the Ministry's expenses.

And the offer includes:

  • An unlimited stay at a spa in Kerela
  • Meditation
  • Holistic healing
  • Mud bath and
  • Ayurvedic therapy

Most people think that this is an offer that will really help Goody.

“That girl sure needs it. She has an anger issue and this will really help her. Go for it girl,” says a tourist from Boston, Ania O'Connor.

While another tourist from Canada, Gerry Burgess, believes that yoga and meditation can help Goody cool down.

“I have done a short course myself on yoga and meditation and know the good points of it. Jade Goody could really make use of it,” Burgess explains.

And the extra bit that Goody is supposed to achieve for Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni's office is - 35 per cent more to the existing tourist inflow from the UK and pushing the earnings from UK in 2007 to $10 billion from $6.6 billion in 2006.

So, call her Manna from heaven. For an already booming tourism industry in India, Goody could have been nothing short of that. And with the tourist inflow from UK touching the 5 million mark for 2006 alone, this episode will only help swell the numbers.
