An indomitable spirit keeps this special kid going

Thrissur (Kerala): He likes to draw buses as much as he likes playing with them, just like any other boy his age.

Kannan is special not just by circumstances but also by choice.

This five-year-old was born without arms and legs, but never lets that stop him from having a good time. His parents have other worries though.

“Now he is five years old. He was born without hands and legs. I am a daily labourer. There is no school near by. No road. Things are in pathetic condition,” says Narayan Kutty’s, Kannan’s father.

Kannan's story pulled at the heartstrings of a civil society group that came forward to help.

“We have extended them help. We have collected funds. But he wishes for a laptop and music system. Their life depends on the helps of the generous public,” says President, The Lions Club of Valayar Valley, Haridas V.

And it's on the strength of aid from a generous public and his own inner spirit that Kannan continues to fight fate.
