Pune: Thirty years ago an orphan girl Kavita, (now Caroline), was adopted by a Swedish family from Shreevatsa orphanage.
Now after thirty years she came to Pune to adopt a baby girl who is a thalassaemia major patient from the same orphanage.
Caroline now a nurse in Sweden, came to Pune to work as a volunteer in the orphanage last year. She noticed the concern for Chandni among social workers here and she spent six weeks in the orphanage from where she was once adopted.
Caroline got deeply attached to Chandni during her stay in Pune. And after a year she has come back to adopt her.
Caroline said, "I was very happy because I have waited one whole year to adopt her.
Members of the managing committee of the Society of Friends of Sasoon General Hospital, which runs the orphanage were very happy with this adoption.
With little Chandni in her arms Caroline and her family left for Sweden. With this adoption, the little girl will get the security of a family life and Caroline a daughter.
