It was a sex scandal that grabbed headlines. After being falsely implicated for being part of a porn racket in 2004, Anara Gupta is now making her debut on the big screen.
Titled Miss Anara the film promises to take a hard look at the nightmare the former beauty pageant winner underwent. Besides a new career the film has also changed Anara the person.
Anara says, “Before this I didn't want to live and now I want to live and look forward to a new future."
And working on the film based on her own traumatic past, was like literally reliving the nightmare.
"It was very difficult, I would think of the real incident and start crying," Anara adds.
But can this move to film her side of the story also be perceived to be an attempt to cash in on the scandal?
The truth of course has to be made commercially viable. Which explains Anara shooting for an item number for the film earlier in Mumbai.
All said and done, kudos to this survivor and aspiring actress who is also currently busy pursuing a course in law.
