Andhra women sexually exploited by banker

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district a nationalised bank employee has sexually exploited tribal women in exchange for loans.

The videos of the bank employee Prabhakar exploiting the women have now come to light.

The tribal women allege that Prabhakar sought sexual favours from them in return for easy loans. The women and Prabhakar were also videographed in secret.

"We never thought he'd do this to us. He tricked our women with his words," says a tribal.

Prabhakar allegedly went to a neighbouring town to get the videos burnt on a CD. The CD shop owners, in turn, made multiple copies and began circulating them that led to their arrest.

"All the three - Prabhakar, the CD shop owners Venu and Sudershan have been sent to judicial custody. We have also booked them under the relevant act," says the police inspector investigating the case.

But the bank is yet to take action against Prabhakar even as people are demanding strict action against him.

The incident has left the tribals hurt and angry about how their ignorance of bank schemes made them vulnerable to exploitation.

It also shows how even now a significant chunk of the population remains unaware of bank schemes and thus open to exploitation.
