Andrabi detained for moral policing in J&K

New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained the Chief of Dhuktaran-e-milat, Asiya Andrabi, and a few activists for laying seige to a cafe in Srinagar.

Andrabi and her activists attacked the Internet parlour and the cafe and smashed all the furniture, saying that there were "indecent activities" going on in the parlour.

The commotion drew a large number of people and police to the area. Police detained Andrabi and four of her activists and have registered a case.

The policemen, after some probing found that the young boys and girls were merely surfing the Internet inside the Internet parlour, when the moral police brigade trooped in and started smashing the furniture.
