New Delhi: Vice Admiral Anil Chopra has taken over as the new Director General of the Indian Coast Guard on Sunday.
He succeeds R F Contractor, who retired on superannuation on Sunday.
Prior to taking over the new assignment, Chopra was the Flag Officer Commanding of Indian Navy's Western Fleet.
He has held various prestigious ashore and afloat appointments in the Navy.
For his distinguished service Chopra was awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal.
