Ralegan Siddhi: Anna Hazare condemned the attack on Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar calling it undemocratic a few hours after he had asked if he (Pawar) was slapped just once.
"It's not correct in a democracy, it is undemocratic. No one should manhandle anyone. There should be protests in a democratic way. Due to corruption people are angry and frustrated but they should protest in democratic way," said Hazare.
Earlier when asked for his reaction on a man slapping Pawar, Hazare had replied, "He was slapped? Was he slapped only once?"
Pawar was slapped by Harvinder Singh at the NDMC Centre in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon. Singh slapped Pawar while shouting slogans against price rise and corruption cases.
"The prices for all essential commodities have risen. Annaji requested for Lokpal but it did not work out. I'm not a terrorist as a terrorist would never take such a step. I'm fed up of all the corrupt ministers involved in various scams," he later said while justifying the attack.
