Click to play videoNew Delhi: Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday said that the party had released the audio recordings of Lokpal Bill Joint Drafting Committee meeting following the principle of transparency.
He further said that the fact that total proceedings of the meetings were recorded showed the intent of the government for transparency.
The Congress leader also pointed that 26-28 suggestions of Team Anna were incorporated in the draft bill, adding that the government went over board to accommodate Anna Hazare and his team.
"Never before in the history has a draft committee been constituted with people out of government," he said.
Hitting out at Anna Hazare and his team, he said that the Gandhian was targeting the Congress party in the name of corruption.
He said that there were number of by-elections going on in the country but Anna was focusing only on Hisar.
Targeting Anna's closest aide Arvind Kejriwal, Digvijaya Singh said, "Arvind Kejriwal belongs to Hisar. Why didn’t he contest as an independent?"
"Justice Santosh Hegde himself said that Team Anna participating in Hisar by-polls is wrong," he said.
He challenged Team Anna to contest elections, saying that he wanted them to join politics with Anna as president and Kejriwal as the general secretary of the political party.
The Congress general secretary also alleged that he had evidence of links between Anna and RSS.
He said he also had proof that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) proposed Anna as a presidential candidate.
