Washington: There's more exciting news for the Indian American community. A third desi, Nicholas Rathod, is being considered for a key job in the White House.
After Preeta Bansal and Sonal Shah on the transition team. So why are so many Indian-Americans making it to Obama's inncer circle?
This is consistent with Obama's theme of bringing diversity to the White House of listening to voices from all sides.
Some of the Indian Americans CNN-IBN spoke with say they are very proud of this appointment as even though the community is only three-million strong, Indian Americans are already playing an important role in the forefront of the political landscape in Washington.
As far as that affecting his South Asia policy, we can’t say for sure but Obama has said that he believes India is a very important strategic partner to the US.
We saw that on Thursday when members of the Obama's transition team who he has appointed to represent him at the G-20, met with members of the Indian team, including Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
