New Delhi: The Capital woke up to the shocking news of another minor's rape. This a day after a mentally challenged 12-year-old was raped by an acquaintance a two-and-half-year-old was allegedly raped by a local rickshaw puller.
This two-and-a half-year-old was allegedly raped in the Raghuvir Nagar area of West Delhi by a 21-year-old rickshaw puller.
The victim’s family was not at home on Sunday evening when the accused Raghu came and took the child with him.
When he returned with the child a few hours later, the family suspected foul play and went to the police.
Victim’s uncle said, “He bought her home late in the night. She was crying. We checked and found that she'd been assaulted. We went to the police."
A medical examination has been conducted on the victim and a report is awaited. The police have registered a case of rape. The accused is yet to be traced.
This is the second such case in the Capital in the last two days itself. The police is tight lipped about this incident - a reflection of their inability to take any pre-emptive measures in controlling this heinous crime because in both the cases the accused was known to the family.
On Sunday a mentally challenged minor girl was allegedly raped by an acquaintance in the Kondli area of East Delhi. On April 3, three men allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl inside a car in West Delhi.
The accused in both the cases are known to the victim’s family. These incidents only reinforce the image of Delhi as the rape Capital of the country.
