New Delhi: While Biti Mohanty convicted for the rape of a German tourist last year is on the run, another German tourist in Rajasthan has alleged molestation and an attempt to rape.
A 43-year-old German woman alleged that the driver and the conductor of a bus she was travelling on tried to assault her sexually. The Pushkar Police have registered an FIR against the two.
However, no arrests have been made so far. The tourist herself was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances or the NDPS Act last year for carrying cannabis. She was released on bail in February.
This is the third reported case of molestation of a tourist in the last one year from Rajasthan.
"I was sitting in the bus from Ajmer to Pushkar. The driver and conductor came and sat next to me and started touching me. I told them not to but they continued to touch me. I then fought them off and got off from the bus," the German tourist has said in her FIR.
On March 20 2006, a German woman had alleged that Biti Mohanty, an MBA student, raped her in a hotel in Alwar. Biti was arrested on March 21 and a fast track court convicted him on April 11.
