Anu Hassan, the niece of the famous actor duo, Kamal Hassan and Charu Hassan is on a maiden innings in Mollywood with the new movie titled as 'Kanthapura'. Directed by Eshwar Joe, the movie is a bilingual with Charuhasan playing an important role. Anu plays the role of Gowri Aiyer, an experienced TV journalist in the movie.
Anu Hassan had started her film career with 'Indira', directed by Suhasini Manirathnam in which she played the lead role. With Kamal Haasan she have done 'Aalavandhaan', and with Suhasini she has acted in 'Anbulla Sneghidhiye'.
But this is her first movie with uncle Charu Hassan. And incidentally it was her uncle Charu Hassan who first mentioned about the director Eshwar Joe, who wrote to her to don the role of Gowri. The movie is shot in exotic locales in Liverpool, India and other countries.
Anu is also famous as an entrepreneur, dubbing artiste, singer, and as an anchor doing the popular chat show 'Koffee with Anu'.
