Andhra Pradesh: CBI judge faces arrest in bribery scandal involving mining baron Janardhan Reddy

Hyderabad: A trial court judge in Andhra Pradesh has been implicated in a bribery scandal involving mining baron Janardhan Reddy, who reportedly struck a deal with the former for bail.

Judge Pattabhi Rama Rao now faces arrest after the Andhra Pradesh High Court gave sanction to the CBI to prosecute him.

Sources say that the CBI got information that a deal worth Rs 6 crore had been struck between Reddy and the judge for granting bail to the mining baron.

Sources further said that nearly Rs 2.8 crore were recovered from a locker, whose keys were with the son of the special judge.
