Hyderabad: The new Arogyasri Cards will have the photo of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in place of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The government has decided that from now onwards the current chief minsiter’s photo will be on the health cards, minister for medical education, Arogyasri and health insurance Kondru Murali said.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday after holding a meeting with the chief minister on Arogyasri, a new health scheme for state government employees and other issues, the minister said that the new Employees Health Scheme for free treatment for employees and their family would be implemented from November 1 and all the employees would be issued health cards.

The deadline for the state government employees to furnish the particulars of their family members along with two passport-size photos is October 20. The minister wanted the Arogyasri Trust to work out the cost of implementing a Universal Health Care Scheme covering all the people of the state. Rajiv Arogyasri and the proposed Employees Health Scheme will, together, cover about 85 percent of the state's population.
