Hyderabad: In a shocking case of corporal punishment in Andhra Pradesh, a class X student died after he was allegedly made to do sit ups as punishment in the school.
The victim's parents allege that after the punishment, the boy suffered a breakdown and died in the hospital.
Relatives of the victim protested outside the Royal Embassy High School and broke furniture.
No official complaint has been lodged yet. The police say they will probe the incident.
In another incident of corporal punishment, the headmaster of a high school in Guntur has been accused of beating two students with a piece of wire for not adhering to the school dress code.
