New Delhi: On the arrival of a new iPhone model, Apple has been observed making its previous generation model available at a discounted price. But the company this time has changed its policy and has discontinued the iPhone 5 released in September last year. While Apple would have made the discounted iPhone 5 available for $99, but the newly launched iPhone 5c fills the place. And it seems that the company did not find it worthwhile to sell two different models at the same price.

The iPhone 5c has many of the attributes found in the iPhone 5. It has a screen measuring 4 inches diagonally and sports an 8 megapixel camera. The new phone, however, is largely made of plastic and doesn't have the aluminum side and glass back found in the iPhone 5. The iphone 5c also is more colorful. It comes in a choice of green, blue, yellow, pink or white, rather than the traditional black or white.

Although Apple is discontinuing the iPhone 5, it will still offer the model before that, the iPhone 4S. The two-year-old 4S will now be available for free with a two-year agreement.
