New Delhi: In a crucial meeting, Arcelor shareholders will get together on Friday and decide the fate of Mittal's offer.
Earlier this week, the Arcelor management agreed to merge with Mittal Steel.
This came after a five-month battle during which Arcelor sought a tie-up with Severstal.
If the Arcelor shareholders decide to go with Mittal's offer, it would create the world's biggest steel company - almost three times its closest rival.
According to Dow Jones reports, the Russian steel major, Severstal may now settle for a Euro 140 million break-up fee for Arcelor.
