Sidhi (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister Arjun Singh's daughter Veena Singh on Saturday filed her nomination papers as an Independent candidate from Sidhi parliamentary seat in eastern Madhya Pradesh.
Veena, accompanied by her husband VP Singh alias Raja Baba and Amar Singh, nephew of the HRD Minister, went to the district returning officer's office and filed her papers.
Arjun Singh's son Ajay Singh and Veena had been in the race for bagging the Congress nominations from Sidhi and Satna seats respectively to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
But, the Congress High Command gave the seat to Union Minister's loyalist Indirajeet Patel and Ajay's lieutenant Sudhir Singh Tomar from the Sidhi and Satna Lok Sabha seats respectively.
