New Delhi: Just weeks after announcing a 50 per cent quota for Christian students, St Stephen's is going ahead with a quota for Christians in the college faculty too.
This has resulted in a revolt at the prestigious college with teachers boycotting the special Assembly on the first day of the academic session. The college administration says the decision will only be reviewed after two and half months and until then the newly selected candidates would continue to teach.
Vijay Mandal's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody has been extended by another four days.
A Ghaziabad court on Tuesday accepted CBI's plea that they needed to interrogate Mandal to recover crucial material evidence like the missing murder weapon and the mobile phones of Arushi Talwar and Hemraj.
Mandal was arrested on July 11 after CBI claimed that Rajkumar and Krishna revealed his name during narco tests.
In Bihar, 20 people died after a bus fell into a drain near Patna. The accident took place on Monday night. The victims were returning after attending a wedding. The group included nine women and 10 children.
