Commentary (Sri Lanka 1st Innings)

That's it from us here! Do join us for the coverage of the finals between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on 8th March. Until then. good bye and take care.

Man of the Match Angelo Mathews says that he was a bit under pressure as he had to consolidate as wickets fell in a flurry at the start. Adds that Chathurang de Silva was brilliant and he has been the find of the season. Mentions that the bowlers have bowled well so far and hopefully they will click again for one more time in the final. Adds that the boys put up a very good show. Mentions that he is not really worried about Mahela Jayawardene's form, he is a big match player and will come good when needed the most.

Mushfiqur Rahim says that the boys had to work really hard. Adds that they dropped catches and then the batsmen threw away starts. It's really disappointing. Mentions that the team sat together and discussed the fact that their performance was not good against Afghanistan and that they needed to step up the gear. Adds that they are feeling disappointed for the fans but hopefully they will perform well in the World T20.

Sri Lanka hold their nerves to end up victorious. They are the unbeaten side in this tournament. It was a brave fight from Bangladesh but it was the Sri Lankan skipper, Mathews who was the difference between the two side. The Sri Lankan spinners did a good job to restrict Bangladesh to 204. Chasing the target, they were reeling at 75/5 but then Mathews took over the reins and added crucial 82 runs with de Silva, who played a good helping hand, to get Sri Lanka back on track. Mathews got to his fifty and then kept his cool to power them past the finish line. Bangladesh have a lot to ponder ahead of the World T20 as they failed to win a single match in the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka will take this confidence forward in the big game - The final against Pakistan!
