Mumbai: Hollywood actress Ashley Judd joins the ranks of actors like Richard Gere and Ralph Fiennes who have come to India to spread awareness on HIV-AIDS.

"A woman should have a say in when and with whom she has sex. She should decide how many children she wants and even have access to safe sex — that is very important to me and is absolutely fundamental to what I consider to be the revolution for peace," says Judd.

She adds, "Working with PSI India gives me a chance to focus on girls and women in particular through all of our programmes."

And the decision to come to India was an easy one says Judd, who has come to India for the first time as part of the NGO, Population Services international's, effort to spread AIDs awareness.

"This is my tenth country of visit, where we have programmed. It is very special to me as I have always wanted to come to India," says Judd.

And this Hollywood actress has a clear Bollywood connection going as well. "We are making a documentary for National Geographic International and PSI's programme, and Sushmita is going to be joining me soon," she says.

"We will be talking about helplines which allow all Indians to call in anonymously and ask questions about their reproductive health," adds Judd.
