Ashram boys allege physical abuse by trustees

Mumbai: The inmates of Vivekananda Bal Ashram claim to have suffered months of sexual harassment and physical abuse by the trustees of the Ashram.

Vivekananda Bal Ashram, which is located in Thane, provides shelter to homeless boys.

The boys also claim to have not got proper food to eat.

However, the trustees deny all the allegations.

“The boys are all grown up. They can't be forced to do anything. They have been paid by some people we are involved in a property dispute with,” say managing trustee Prachi Kasbekar.

Meanwhile, the police who are already examining the complain say that an FIR will be soon registered in the case.

Apart from the police, the matter is also being investigated by Childline India Foundation.
