New Delhi: The common admission test better (CAT) for entry into the famed IIMs is being held online from 2009. CAT will be conducted over the next 10 days at 105 different centres across 32.
As it is a computer based test for the first time experts say, the over 2.4 lakh aspirants can hope to bell the CAT, once they have adjusted to the new interface.
The exam has been designed by Prometric, a US-based testing company.
Students have been given the option to choose date, time and centre of their convenience. With 20 sets of questions, each candidate will have 2 hour 5 minutes to answer 70 questions
Experts say cat aspirants should allocate equal time to the three sections and stick to it. While taking the test, start and end with strong sections and sandwich the weakest section in the middle, for sections in data interpretation, writing down values in a tabular form will help and finally the focus should be on accuracy and not on attempts.
Even though the test might now be computer based, but the format is expected to remain largely the same.
