Assam: Post graduate medical student commits suicide

Guwahati: A post graduate student of Guwahati Medical College Hospital allegedly committed suicide by taking an overdose of drugs, police said on Tuesday.

Pritam Das, a post graduate student, was found dead in his hostel room on Monday night by his friends.

Pritam, a resident of Tinsukia, completed his MBBS from Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh and was currently doing his post-graduation in Pediatrics Department in Guwahati Medical College.

Hospital authorities and police suspect that the cause of his committing suicide was allegedly due to a failed love affair.

His family members said that his laptop was stolen from his hostel room about few days back and he was tense since then.
